New York, March 20, 2004 - The New York International Music Festival is delighted to return to Manhattan from April 22nd – May 2nd. Aspiring singers and bands in all musical genres will be showcasing their talents in front of influential members from the entertainment industry. The Opening night party will take place at 7pm on April 22nd at Manhattan’s new hip location, Boulevard (99 Bowery at Spring Street). Live performances as well as latest films from The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival will take place in a specially designed theater at the Village East 181 2nd Ave at 12th Street. |

| The New York International Music Festival (NYIMF) was founded in 2003 by entertainment impresario Stuart Alson and is fast becoming one of the largest exhibitions of innovative musical talent in the U.S. Unsigned artists from all over the world have the chance to showcase their talents and network with A & R executives, talent agents, managers, casting agents and filmmakers. Musical genres in the New York line-up include hip-hop, r&b, rap, dance, rock, pop, folk country and gospel. The festival provides a platform to discover and develop new talent and is sure to expose some amazingly talented artists. | |||
| NYIMF’s executive producer and legendary performer Frank Munoz commented, “We are very proud of our emerging talent and look forward to another successful event in the best city in the world. Participants will get a great chance network with A& R executives, perform live and get insights on how to hone the skills needed to carve out a career as a singer or musician.” | |||
| Invited special guests include Ice-T, Vanilla Ice and Federico Castelluccio (The Sopranos). Other events include after-parties in locations such as Avalon, Crobar, Opaline, Plaid and Suite 16 as well as a range of insider panels designed to help participants gain knowledge about the many facets of the music business. Speakers include A & R representatives from RCA, Arista and Bad Boy Entertainment. Invited panelist Damon Eden from Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment (founded by Hip-Hop mogul P. Diddy). commented “It's so important for aspiring singers, artists, writers, and producers to become involved in events such as the NYIMF that genuinely support and promote new talent.” | |||
| Highlighted acts include School Boyz, a versatile, cutting-edge quartet who has opened and performed with national recording artists such as OutKast, Hall and Oats, the OJ's, and the Four Tops to name a few. Lucia, an R & B/hio-hop singer who has performed with phenomenally successful rapper, 50 Cent. Memphis Hip-Hop artist Wardell Webber, JR (Dirty D) impressed audiences and industry executives in Los Angeles and Miami and Indian singer/compose/producer Athulz who recorded a remix of ‘Ever So ‘Lonely for Peter Gabriel’s Real World label. | |||
| The whole spectrum of the music and film industry will be invited to attend. Representatives from Sony Music, Arista Records, Atlantic Records, MTV, Nickelodeon, RCA, Virgin, Bad Boy Entertainment, The William Morris Agency, Rolling Stone, Vibe magazine to name a few. | |||
| Participants fly in from every corner of the globe, including Spain, the U.K, Ireland, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, France and all over the U.S. The competitors are chosen by a team of industry professionals and winning acts will be offered various opportunities in the music industry, including the opportunity for three lucky winners to tour Sydney and London in 2005. | |||
